The Blade 21 Barbershop hopes to continue its reputation as a beacon for great Black culture in the DFW area. Before the name Blade 21 Barbershop, in 1970 this was a Salon named Charlottes Hair, it was famous for being the first Black Barbershop in North Texas. Blade 21 Barbershop is part of a community rich in history and tradition. That slogan, “A testimonial to the history of grooming,” is more than just words—it captures our vision for the future of Blade 21 encompassing inclusion and excellence. We want to be known as a shop dedicated to creating a safe haven for men and women to explore self-expression through grooming. Today, our doors are open just as they were then: to serve and honor the community that brought us to this point.
We believe that God has called us to be a part of repairs in more ways than just physical. We are able to walk with men on their journey back to wholeness through our brotherhood and open communication. In the gospel of John, Jesus talks about the power of the Comforter to help us through life and all its troubles. This is what we strive to do, these are our connections, these are our barber mates.
